One of New Jersey's most experienced and successful Realtors for many years, Pete served as President and CEO of The Degnan Company and its successor, Prudential Degnan Boyle, Inc. and then as Executive Vice President and General Sales Manager of Prudential New Jersey Realty. Pete, no longer in ownership, management or administration, for the past 10 years has offered his experience directly to the public for the sale and purchase of both residential and commercial real estate. He brings his lenthy Experience, and his High Tech and High Personal Touch to his valued clients.

Personal Background

I am a lifelong resident of West Orange Township, NJ, and started there in the real estate business at the age of 21. My wife, Joan, and I have owned 3 residences in West Orange over the years, and lived in various parts of this great community. My five children and many grandchildren have been educated in local schools. Bernard M. Degnan Memorial Park in the Pleasantdale area of town is named after my father, a former Mayor, and The James A. Degnan Senior Citizen House, on Main Street, is named after my uncle, an attorney and municipal judge.

Community Involvement

The Rotary Club of West Orange, and Rotary District 7470, has been a major focus for the last 27 years. I am a Past President of the West Orange Club and in the past was very active in the District 7470 Gift of Life Program.

During my many years in business I've served as a Director of the West Orange Chamber of Commerce, a Trustee of Downtown West Orange (main street redevelopment), and currently as a Board Member of The James A. Degnan Senior Citizen House, a 150 unit low cost housing complex.

An active member of St. Joseph's Parish in West orange, I formerly served as President of the Parish Council.

Personal Interests

I've logged about 30,000 miles running, mostly just to keep in good physical health, and only started to enter and enjoy racing when I hit 60 years of age. The annual Spring Lake Five Mile Run, with 8000 runners, was the best. As a member of the New York Road Runners Club, runs in Central Park, and even into Times Square, were memorable.

Photography, Reading, and spectator sports, occupy much of my few leisure hours. I am a certified Basketball Nut, having been a 40 year Seton Hall Season Ticket Holder, and having attended 2 NCAA Final Fours, as well as loving the Knicks, Nets, and the NBA. Its the Giants in football, and the Mets in baseball.

Of course, time with my children and 12 grandchildren is the greatest, especially at the Jersey Shore. LBI (long Beach Island) was our place for many years, but now its Manasquan and Spring Lake beaches.
