Recently, my wife and I were able to sell our house (271 Linden Ave., Verona) and we'd like you to know our sincere gratitude to our agent Rick Lodato. Quite literally, without Rick's perseverance and excellent advice I don't think we would have been able to close on the deal and move into our dream house. The house we eventually bought was sold by owner so Rick wasn't involved in the purchase, but yet even with that transaction he still provided us with helpful advice. We even felt a bit of disappointment that after all of his help he didn't get to benefit from our purchase in the end.
However, it was during the sale of our home that Rick's ability as a realtor shined. As the realtor for the first home we were going to purchase, Rick impressed us with his friendly and honest demeanour and truthful assessment of what we needed to do to quickly sell our house in order to secure the new home (our bid had been accepted). That's when we decided to take on Rick as our agent. As a dual agent, I can honestly say that Rick acted fair and ethical at all times and appropriately balanced the needs of both parties, particularly in a situation that eventually became difficult (not due to any of his fault).
Rick's tips around getting our house ready for sale and how to price it proved to be spot-on because the house first sold in 6 days of listing -- unheard of in this market (back in June) from everyone I spoke to. Unfortunately, the buyers turned out to be not what they seemed and caused much grief for me and my family over a period of six weeks or so that ended with the cancelation of the contract and loss of the home we were contracted to buy. It was an extremely stressful time but Rick's continuous advice, presence, and confidence that things would eventually work out helped us through it. Rick definitely went out of his way more than other realtors (from stories I've heard) to help us out. When we selected Rick he had stated that he takes ownership of the deals he makes and true to his words he saw them through every step no matter how rocky things got -- that kind of work ethos is not easy to find these days.
To make a long story short, Through it all we were glad to have someone with as much experience as Rick on our side and he should be commended for his excellent client service.
